The Vulnerable
Robin O’Rourke’s abusive ex, Sean, continued to stalk her, violating the restraining order. Will she regret her hasty steps to protect herself and others? Dan DeCosta, a victim of credit card fraud, should have known better than to fall for Robin, the ginger-haired beauty with a troubled past. She’d been living out of her car—the one with blood in the back seat, and he had the keys to it when the cops violently apprehended him in his blood-spattered house.
Dan needed his close-knit family, who left snowy Massachusetts for warmer climates—California with wildfires and Florida with hurricanes. But they had their own struggles and secrets—especially his father, aided by the FBI from domestic terrorists for his controversial book on climate change. And to complicate matters, COVID-19 breaks out.
The story is set in two contrasting cities. Through the eyes of its vulnerable characters, it pays homage to the gritty people of Lowell, MA, a Milltown rich in industrial history, with movie stars, famous writers, and prize fighters, and to Fort Myers, FL, glowing with its al fresco dining, eclectic nightlife, sensational sunsets, and sugar-white sandy beaches.
